Welcome to the Master's Programme in Consumer Affairs!

The subject "Consumer Affairs" is a world-wide rising field in research and higher education. It analyzes consumers in their economic, social and ecological environment. Beside the basics of Consumer Affairs in the first semester, students can specialise in the research fields “Consumer, Technology and Innovation” and “Sustainable Consumption”.

The Master's Programme in Consumer Affairs (MCA) is located at TUM School of Management. Due to its interdisciplinary focus there are three other faculties involved (Center of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan (WZW), TUM School of Education, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Surveying). The language of instruction is English. The basic prerequisites for admission are a Bachelor’s degree with at least 30 ECTS in socio-economic courses and good proficiency in English. MCA starts every year in October and takes four semesters (120 ECTS).

MCA at TUM School of Management is integrated in the European Master’s Programme in Consumer Affairs (EURECA) which is offered by Aarhus University, Technische Universität München, Wageningen University and Warsaw University of Life Sciences. EURECA is a two-year integrated programme with a strong academic focus on consumers. Currently, the EURECA consortium discusses future double degree opportunities with the University of Bologna.

Within EURECA students have the opportunity to spend one or two semesters at a partner university. Thus, they can choose from eight additional academic specialisations (two offered by each EURECA university). If students meet the admission criteria at TUM School of Management and at the respective partner university, they can even graduate with a double degree.

MCA offers you:

With MCA and EURECA students choose a European programme with a strong research focus and great career opportunities!
